We left on August 8th with our sights on Salida, CO Walmart to park for the night. We had to go the long way on I-70 because a bridge was under construction on the regular route. The drive on I-70 was amazing. Mother Nature was showing off for sure!
Sure was a long day of driving but the views were something to marvel at!

Family Reunion!
We made it to Westcliffe, Colorado on Friday, August 9th to Hermit Basin Conference Center. This was a ski area years ago and it stands at elevation 9,000 feet. Too much for these sea level folks. We had some trouble but still enjoyed visiting with Tom’s extended family. A special treat was spending time with Tom’s brother and niece, her husband and new baby, and his nephew. They live in Colorado. It was a nice weekend.
